About
A small operation, built by hand.
I'm Joe Gavish, and I've spent years chasing the minerals I love most — fluorite and calcite above all. Based in Florida, I've become known among collectors for Illinois material — the fluorite and calcite of the Cave-in-Rock / fluorspar district especially. What started as a fascination with their color and crystal form grew into Gavish Minerals, built on specimens I hand-select myself for quality, character, and honest locality data.
When I'm not at a show or out sourcing new pieces, I'm a family man first — this is a business I've built around the people and the hobby I care about. Every piece I offer is one I've picked out by hand and stand behind.

Illinois Fluorite
Classic material from the Illinois fluorspar district (Cave-in-Rock / Hardin County) — including the Annabel Lee, Denton, Minerva No. 1 and Rosiclare mines. The purple, banded, and cubic pieces that made the region famous.

Richly colored fluorite from the Okorusu mine.
